Margate Made Rocks!

Antoinette Gilbert works for Kent Adult Education, which is working in partnership with Margate Made to put on this event.

So as I help the lovely Sarah, Lydia and my apprentice Alexia (as well as the wonderful stall holders, activity leaders and volunteers) prepare for Margate Made I will also be preparing for my 40th birthday!

This year I’ve decided to take more risks and throw myself into life. Margate Made has provided me with the perfect opportunity to bring together the things that I care about community, family and learning.

I’ve had the pleasure of working for Kent Adult Education for 17 years and in my personal life I’m one of the admins on the “What’s happening around Thanet for Families” Facebook page. The page now has over 5500 members!

Approximately a year ago myself and the children found our first rock! Rock hunting with the help of Love on the rocks UK, Thanet Rock Hunters and Channel Rocks has brought people together.

So with this is mind I thought why not bring the latest craze to Margate Made and Margate Adult Education Centre. Me and the kids are aiming to paint, and then hide one every day until the event – everyone is welcome to make, hide and come and find!

I look forward to meeting you all on the 14th of July.

See Antoinette’s daily rocks on our Instagram.
